Awards
Each year the Onalaska Area Business Association recognizes individuals and businesses with unique awards in recognition of their service, innovation, impact, and dedication to the Onalaska Area Community. We recognize these businesses at our annual awards banquet in April. Please follow the links below to nominate a local Hero, Business, and Educator.
HERO Award
The HERO award recognizes firefighters, police officers, nurses, doctors, and EMTs who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect the community. The award recipient strives to make a positive impact on the community through their actions, initiatives, and contributions. They demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity toward patients, victims, and their families during challenging and distressing situations. Other criteria include demonstrating long-term dedication and commitment and demonstrating acts of exceptional courage and bravery.
Business of the Year
The "Business of the Year" award recognizes outstanding achievement and contribution by a business within the Onalaska community. This prestigious accolade celebrates a company that has demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation, community involvement, and leadership throughout the year. The recipient of this award embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship, excellence, and commitment to enhancing the economic vitality and quality of life in Onalaska and its surrounding areas.
Educator of the Year
The Educator of the Year is awarded to an outstanding teacher or educator in Onalaska who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and effectiveness in their role. The recipient of this title is someone who goes above and beyond their regular duties to make a significant difference in the lives of students, colleagues, and the community. Key attributes and characteristics of an Educator of the Year may include: professional development, commitment to student success, leadership, community involvement, and a positive influence. This award serves as a public acknowledgment of their dedication to their students and the Onalaska community.
President's Award
The President’s Award is bestowed annually on one or more members who have exemplified outstanding contributions to the Onalaska Community and Business Community over the past year. This award recognizes excellence in business/organizational operation, business innovation, and exceptional service to the betterment of the Onalaska community. The recipient is known for being a champion of ethical, fair, inclusive, and cooperative work with other businesses and community organizations. The President’s Award is issued at the sole discretion of the OABA President.
Mayor's Award
The President’s Award is bestowed annually on one or more members who have exemplified outstanding contributions to the Onalaska Community and Business Community over the past year. This award recognizes excellence in business/organizational operation, business innovation, and exceptional service to the betterment of the Onalaska community. The recipient is known for being a champion of ethical, fair, inclusive, and cooperative work with other businesses and community organizations. The Mayor’s Award is issued at the sole discretion of the City of Onalaska Mayor.
